MJM Exceeds $40,000 Goal for the 2nd Annual Family Fun Walk and Auction!
MJM’s 2nd Annual Family Fun Walk and Auction, our annual signature fundraising event, was held on September 9, 2017 at the Pennrose Park Country Club in Reidsville. With over 130 walkers, which included 15 teams of people of all ages and abilities, we considered this event a huge success! After walking through the beautiful neighborhoods surrounding the golf course, over 100 attendees enjoyed a picnic lunch and then stayed and placed their bids at the auction. From jelly beans to beach vacations, the auction alone brought in over $7,000. A special thank you to the Kenneth Smithey family and Funwood Auctions for their labor of love in sponsoring the auction. This event is gaining momentum each year and we are excited to see what 2018 brings.
The funds generated from the walk and auction go directly to support the programs of MJM. We extend a BIG thank you to our MJM family and friends, area churches, corporate sponsors and supporters for your participation. We surpassed our goal of $40,000 by bringing in a whopping $41,017.50! This total represents a 36% increase over the $30,000 raised last year. WOW, we can’t thank our community enough for embracing this valuable work!
